Industry, mobility & logistics

Chemicals & materials. Every label is a safety instruction.

Every green claim is now evidence.

Specialty and commodity chemical makers, polymer and coatings producers, agrochemical and advanced-materials companies, selling to formulators and buyers who read the safety data sheet before the brochure. We build product and SDS information that stays current across markets, compliant label and packaging systems, distributor portals and claims that stand up to the greenwashing rules.

What is shifting

Label and claims rules moved on both sides of the order.

Indian quality orders were withdrawn, EU label rules were deferred, carbon reached the border and EPR enforcement tightened. Each shift names what it demands, with a fact you can check.

Every product carries the plant’s paperwork.
  1. India withdrew a wave of quality control orders.

It demandsProduct pages and certificates that can change status quickly, product by product.

SignalIn November 2025 the Department of Chemicals and Petrochemicals withdrew BIS quality control orders for fourteen petrochemicals and polymers, PE, PP and PVC among them.

  2. EU label rules are being rewritten, again.

It demandsLabel and online-offer templates that absorb new formats without redesigning every pack.

SignalRegulation (EU) 2025/2439 of 26 November 2025 moved the revised CLP rules on label formatting, advertising and online offers to 1 January 2028.

  3. Carbon is priced at the EU border for some chemicals.

It demandsEmbedded-emissions data per product for EU customers.

SignalFertilisers and hydrogen are among the goods covered by the EU CBAM, whose definitive period began on 1 January 2026.

  4. Plastic packaging comes with producer responsibility.

It demandsPackaging data, EPR registration and recycled-content claims kept together.

SignalThe CPCB issued show-cause notices to producers, importers and brand owners for missed EPR targets as recently as 11 March 2026, the environment ministry told Parliament.

The rulebook

Every grade carries a label, every label carries the law.

Advertising & claims

Shapes most of the work

  1. European Union

EU CLP — label formatting, advertising and online offers

The 2024 revision sets minimum label and font sizes and requires hazard information in advertisements and online offers; Regulation (EU) 2025/2439 deferred these duties to 1 January 2028.

We designLabel and online-offer templates are built so the new formats are a template change, not a repack.

    Regulation (EU) 2024/2865 · Regulation (EU) 2025/2439 of 26 November 2025

  2. Central Consumer Protection Authority

    CCPA greenwashing guidelines, 2024

Specific environmental claims rest on credible certification or reliable scientific evidence, and words such as ‘sustainable’ or ‘natural’ need adequate, accurate and accessible qualifiers.

We designEvery claim says what it covers — the product, the pack or the process — and links to its evidence.

Sector regulator

Shapes most of the work

  1. Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change

Manufacture, Storage and Import of Hazardous Chemical Rules, 1989

Sites handling listed hazardous chemicals keep safety data sheets and an up-to-date on-site emergency plan, and tell people outside the site who could be affected by a major accident about the hazard and what to do.

We designPublic safety information and emergency pages are written in plain language and kept in step with the site’s plan.

    MSIHC Rules, 1989 · S.O. 966(E), 27 November 1989, as amended · rules 13–15 and Schedule 9

  2. Department of Chemicals and Petrochemicals · BIS

BIS quality control orders for chemicals and polymers

Where a quality control order applies, the product needs BIS certification before sale or import; many chemical and polymer orders were withdrawn in November 2025, so status is checked product by product.

We designA register per product drives which certificates and marks the site and packs show.

BIS Act, 2016 · section 16 · withdrawals by the Department of Chemicals and Petrochemicals, November 2025

  3. European Union

    EU REACH

Substances made in or imported into the EU at a tonne or more a year are registered, by the importer or by an only representative a non-EU maker appoints; articles holding candidate-list substances above 0.1% weight by weight say so down the supply chain.

We designRegistration status and SVHC information are attached to each product and its documents.

Regulation (EC) No 1907/2006 · Articles 6, 7, 8 and 33 Official text: EU REACH

  4. Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change · CPCB

Plastic Waste Management Rules — EPR for plastic packaging

Producers, importers and brand owners register on the CPCB portal and meet targets for recycling, reuse of rigid packaging and recycled content; the CPCB has issued show-cause notices for missed targets.

We designPackaging data, EPR registration and recycled-content claims sit in one record per pack.

Security & incidents

Often shapes the work

  1. Indian Computer Emergency Response Team

    CERT-In Directions, 2022

Attacks on SCADA and operational technology systems are among the incidents to report within six hours of noticing them, with logs of all ICT systems kept for a rolling 180 days within India.

We designCustomer portals and plant networks are kept apart, logged and covered by one incident runbook.

Challenges

What gets in the way in chemicals & materials.

The problems that surface in nearly every chemicals & materials programme: the ones customers feel, and the ones teams carry.

Your customers

  1. The right grade, quickly

Formulators find the grade, the TDS and the SDS in minutes, not after a sales call.

  2. Documents that are current

SDS and certificates in the right language and revision for each market.

  3. Claims a buyer can defend

Sustainability claims customers can repeat to their own customers.

Your operation

  1. Labels in many jurisdictions

GHS, CLP and Indian rules applied to the same product family.

  2. Hazard information beyond the gate

Information for workers, transporters and neighbours, kept current.

  3. Distributors as the face

Partners need the same documents, data and leads as your own team.

Work and insights

Published work follows client approval.

We publish chemicals & materials projects only once a client signs off the write-up. Meanwhile, here is the reading that applies.

A typical programme · composite

A specialty chemicals maker moved its TDS and SDS library into one product-data model with revisions per market, so distributors and customers download the current document from the product page.

Anonymised and illustrative: the shape a programme takes, never a named client.

Ask us

Questions

What product, regulatory and sales leads ask us first.

Something else on your mind? Ask us directly

Q.01Can you keep our SDS current across markets?

We build the product-data model and the publishing that version SDS and TDS by market and language, so the current document is the one customers download. Your product stewardship team keeps authorship and sign-off.

Q.02Do the greenwashing guidelines cover claims to business buyers?

The CCPA’s guidelines govern environmental claims made to consumers in India. Claims you make to businesses often travel into their consumer marketing, and EU buyers apply their own tests, so we write every claim to name what it covers and link to its evidence; counsel confirms what applies to each audience.

Q.03Is our product still under a BIS quality control order?

Several chemical and polymer orders were withdrawn in November 2025 and others remain. We keep a register per product so pages, packs and certificates show the current status; your compliance team confirms each entry.

Q.04Can AI write our safety data sheets?

No. AI can find, translate and summarise current documents with citations; qualified people author and approve every SDS.
