Proof. Brand, technology and AI, with the working shown.

Read the latest

This month’s issue, open on the desk.

India’s data protection rules arrive in phases, accessibility becomes a market rule in Europe, and agents need a way to ask before they act. Consent, designed in rather than bolted on.

What you get

Every issue is built the same way, so you know where to look.

Six parts, always in this order. Here is the latest issue as the email it was, taken apart. The stories change every month; the rules for writing them do not.

  1. Masthead and editor’s note

The issue number and date, the headline and standfirst, and why this issue exists, in under 200 words.

  2. Three to five stories

Each names one shift, what it changes for a programme you run, and the first thing we would check.

  3. Figures with sources

Every number carries its source and its date. Anything we cannot confirm is marked as such.

  4. Worth reading

The primary sources behind the issue, from standards bodies, regulators and researchers, with a line on why each matters.

  5. The web version

Every email links to the issue on this site: archived, searchable, and with related work and writing from the studio.

On the web: 6 pieces from the studio
  6. Why you got it, and the way out

Every email says why it reached you and carries an unsubscribe link: one button on the page it opens, no log-in. Mail apps that support one-click unsubscribe show their own button as well.

The latest issue drawn as the email it was, in six parts: the masthead and editor’s note, the stories, a row of figures with their source, the Worth reading list, the button to the web version, and the footer with the unsubscribe link.

Cadence

How it is written

  1. Primary sources first We link the standard, the regulator or the research itself, not a summary of a summary.

  2. Unconfirmed is labelled A figure we cannot trace to its source is marked, or left out.

  3. People sign it off AI tools may help us research and draft. An editor checks every claim and every link before an issue is sent.

  4. Nothing sponsored No paid placements and no affiliate links. If we mention a product, it is because we use it or tested it.

Subscribe

Your address, and what you want more of. Then confirm once, by email.

Every subscriber gets every issue, in full. Your topics shape what we write next, and when an issue is about one subject only, we send it just to the readers who asked for it.

The archive

Every issue, searchable to the sentence.

Search every story, note and source we have sent, or filter by topic. Each result quotes the sentence that matched and links straight to it.

Questions

How often will you email me?

Once a month, in the first week. Single-topic briefings and role alerts only reach readers who chose them.

Why do I have to confirm?

So nobody can sign you up without you. The link we send works for seven days, and until you open it we send nothing else.

What if I sign up twice?

If your address is already confirmed, nothing changes and nothing is sent. If you have not confirmed yet, we send a fresh link, at most one every ten minutes, and the earlier link stops working, so use the newest email. The form gives the same answer either way, so nobody can use it to check whether an address is on our list.

How do I leave?

Every email has an unsubscribe link. It opens a page with one button and asks for no log-in. Mail apps that support one-click unsubscribe show their own button, which works without opening anything.

Can I change my topics later?

Yes. Email us from the address you subscribed with and we will update them by hand. A preferences link in every issue is planned.
